He was born in Italy and moved to Providence in 1904. Because of the success of his product, he soon built his pharmacy on 131 Knight Street. He was a very charitable person and would often let his customers "pay him later". Everyone, out of respect, referred to him as "Don" and the misspelling of whiskey can probably be attributed to his Italian heritage. With the amount of success he had, he never needed to change it.
