Antique Vintage Special Drive Tin Tobacco Tag 1870s-1910s

Antique Special Drive tobacco tag made by F.M.Bohannon's, Winston.Salem, NC After the Civil War demand for South tobacco soared. Since the competition was so tight tobacco companies issued these tags from 1870 to 1920 to identify themselves. This also helped prevent people from buying someone else inferior product as it made it harder for store owners to "refill" the tobacco with an inferior product. This is an antique item and a bargain for any collector! 3/4" approx
