The Cashmere Fruit Exchange played a significant role in the agricultural history of Cashmere, Washington. Established in the early 20th century, it was known for its fruit packing and processing operations. The company promoted its produce using distinctive apple crate labels, often depicting local landscapes like this one. The town of Cashmere itself has a rich history, evolving from a mission established in 1863 to a thriving agricultural community by the early 1900s. The Cashmere Fruit Exchange was part of this growth, contributing to the region's local economy and broader fruit industry.

Cashmere, Washington, dates back to the mid-19th century. The Sinpesquensi, a band of the Wenatchi people, originally inhabited the area and thrived on the abundant game and fish in the region. Catholic missionaries, including Father Respari and later Father Urban Grassi, established missions in the area in the 1850s and 1870s, respectively.

The town began to form in the 1880s with the arrival of settlers like Alexander Brender, the first non-Indian settler, and the establishment of a post office in 1889. Initially named "Mission," the town was renamed "Cashmere" in 1904 to avoid confusion with other towns named Mission in the state1. The introduction of irrigation in the early 20th century transformed the area into a productive agricultural region, mainly known for its apple orchards.

Once a common sight, these Crate Labels have become a rare and treasured relic of a bygone era. The meticulous lithography process used in their creation, involving a stone or metal plate, is a testament to their unique craftsmanship. The soaring demand for these labels, with museums and art institutes dedicating galleries to them, underscores their growing importance in art and collectibles. This rarity adds a sense of urgency to your purchase, making them a must-have for any serious collector, and you don't want to miss out on this opportunity.

Picture this remarkable vintage advertising, a unique piece of history, adorning the walls of your home. Instead of being confined to a museum, it can bring a touch of nostalgia and elegance to any room in your home.
