Antique Vintage Sun-Tint Plum Label made by Rogue River Packing Corporation, Medford, Oregon 1930s

7 1/4 x 6 1/2" ~

This is such a neat label and very hard to find especially in this condition. It has little to no edge wear.

This has to be the worst marketing in history. They even highlighted it in bold outline. Couldn't they find a smaller font? I guess in the Depression this was more palatable than some of the alternatives out there and appealed to bargain food shoppers. I tried to research why they would do this and there wasn't any regulatory reason to do it. It is like McDonald's coming out and saying our Quarter Pounder really doesn't taste that good it won't make you sick probably. Hey, at least they are honest!

Please note: I tried finding the original company and I found a company that was incorporated under the same name in 1970 and read the incorporation papers. The aging of the paper and paper stock doesn't place it from that time frame plus there is no zip code and that was usually included. People older and wiser have listed them as the 1930s and the few I see listed now are all dated the same. It hurts when a company takes another company's name as it wipes the original from the history books not totally but the newer company obviously would show up a ton more and it is like finding a needle in a haystack. I have read just for this particular listing old newspaper articles from Medford and college essays on fruit production in Oregon. I have researched when FDA food grades started and what they were. This grade never existed. My opinion is they are from the 1930s but please judge for yourself.

They aren't making any more vintage and antique labels obviously so once the limited supply for sale is gone and on display with collectors or in galleries then they will be very difficult to acquire.

Imagine hanging this vintage advertising on your wall as home decor in any room!

My pictures seriously don't do it justice.

This item is within 10 years of being a full antique.
The Antique Vintage Sun-Tint Plum Label, Medford, OR 1930s, Worst Advertising Campaign? is a sensational customer favorite, and we hope you like it just as much.
