This authentic $1000 gold bond was issued in June 1920 by the Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Chicago & St. Louis Railroad, commonly known as the Panhandle Route. Produced during the post–World War I expansion of U.S. rail infrastructure, it reflects how railroads financed the industrial growth connecting Pittsburgh, Chicago, and St. Louis.

🏦 Printed by the American Bank Note Company, the certificate features ornate engraving, period typography, and formal financial language characteristic of early 20th‑century railroad investment. The bond has been cancelled, as indicated by the original red cancellation stamp visible on the certificate.
