This unique bagface rug is a testament to the ancient culture of the Qashqai tribe, who roamed Southern Eastern Persia for centuries. Imagine the nomadic life this saddle bag once endured, faithfully accompanying its owners on their regular moves across vast landscapes. Unlike modern bags, these were ingeniously woven in one long piece, featuring a distinctive long center bridge with a slit down the middle. First, the face for one pouch was meticulously woven, followed by the long section forming the back and that crucial center bridge, and finally, the second pouch face. The bag was then expertly assembled by folding each end panel inward and stitching along the sides. Each knot tells a story, woven from memory without the aid of a pattern, a true mark of the Qashqai weavers' incredible skill and artistry.
