Transocean Ltd. is an American drilling company that specializes in offshore drilling. Based on revenue, Transocean is the world’s largest offshore drilling contractor. Transocean operates ultra-deepwater and harsh-environment floaters. Their fleet includes specialized drilling rigs in challenging conditions like deep waters and harsh environments. In 2010, Transocean was implicated in the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. This disaster resulted from the explosion of one of its oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico. The incident led to significant environmental and economic consequences for Transocean.
