Description

Step back in time with this extraordinary Vintage Prince of Wales Crate Label from the 1950s – a true collector's dream come true! This magnificent piece of Americana showcases a dashing prince adorned in his regal finery, exuding an air of nobility and charm.

Prepare to be dazzled by the label's vivid color palette! The rich blues, vibrant reds, and lush greens leap off the surface, transporting you straight back to the golden age of citrus advertising. It's as if this Prince of Wales crate label was plucked fresh from a 1950s packing house, preserving a slice of Lake Wales, Florida's rich agricultural heritage.

Measuring an impressive 9" x 8 1/2", this vintage crate label commands attention and admiration. Its size makes it perfect for framing and displaying as a captivating piece of wall art, sure to spark conversations and ignite imaginations. The label's stunning lithography is a testament to the unparalleled craftsmanship of a bygone era, showcasing intricate details that modern printing techniques struggle to replicate.

Don't let this opportunity slip through your fingers! This Prince of Wales Crate Label is more than just a collectible – it's a window into America's past, a celebration of Florida's citrus industry, and a work of art all rolled into one. Whether you're a seasoned collector or just starting your journey into the world of vintage memorabilia, this piece is guaranteed to become a cherished centerpiece in your collection.

Imagine the stories this label could tell! Picture it adorning the wooden crates of Florida citrus, making their way from the groves of Lake Wales to dinner tables across the nation. Now, you have the chance to give this piece of history a new home and continue its incredible journey.

As the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words, but trust us when we say that even our best photographs can't capture the true beauty and allure of this vintage crate label. The subtle nuances, the play of light on the vintage paper, and the overall aura of nostalgia are best experienced in person.

Did you know that crate labels like this one are becoming increasingly rare and sought-after? Museums and art institutes are dedicating entire galleries to these miniature masterpieces, recognizing their significance in American art and advertising history. As more collectors and institutions snap up these treasures, the available supply dwindles, making each label more valuable and harder to acquire.

Why relegate such a stunning piece of Americana to a museum when you can enjoy it in your own home? Imagine this Prince of Wales Crate Label gracing your living room, kitchen, or office – a daily reminder of the artistry, craftsmanship, and rich history of 1950s America. It's not just decor; it's a conversation starter, a time machine, and a work of art all in one!

Don't miss this chance to own a piece of Florida's citrus legacy and American advertising history. Add this Vintage Prince of Wales Crate Label to your collection today and let its regal charm and vintage allure transform your space into a gallery of nostalgia!

My pictures seriously don't do it justice.

Crate Labels are a reminder of a bygone era, but the amazing lithography process is unparalleled even to this day in my opinion. Museums and Art Institutes have galleries dedicated to them, and more and more collectors are seeking these out to preserve their history. Once the limited supply for sale is gone and on display with collectors or in galleries, then they will be very difficult to acquire.

Imagine this amazing vintage advertising hanging as home decor in any room of your home instead of a museum!

📋 What Is Printed On This Label

Every line of type on the sheet, transcribed from the label itself rather than paraphrased:

  • Prince of Wales
  • BRAND
  • LAKE WALES CITRUS GROWERS
  • ASSOCIATION
  • LAKE WALES, FLORIDA
  • PRODUCE OF U.S.A.

Printer: no lithographer's imprint, form number or plate code appears anywhere on this sheet. None is claimed here.

No fruit is named on this sheet. The only product word printed anywhere is CITRUS, and it appears inside the association's name — LAKE WALES CITRUS GROWERS ASSOCIATION. The brand is Prince of Wales in full; Wales on its own is the town of Lake Wales, Florida.

The vignette is a stage set. The courtier stands on a theatre stage — swagged red curtain, two pale columns, a red floor lit from the front — in a purple ermine-trimmed cloak, orange doublet, green hose and purple shoes, plumed hat held at his side.

On condition. These are sold from an unused stack, so this describes the printing rather than one individual sheet: the ink is unfaded, the stock is unmounted and ungummed, and the sheet was never applied to a crate. Anything materially wrong with a particular sheet is disclosed plainly.
