🏈 Dual Autographed Herm Edwards and Joe Pisarcik Inscribed Miracle at the Meadowlands 16x20 Football Photo Beckett BAS COA — November 19 1978 Giants Stadium Meadowlands East Rutherford New Jersey New York Giants vs Philadelphia Eagles Giants Lead 17-12 Final Seconds The Fumble Herm Edwards Returns Touchdown Eagles Win 19-17, One of the Most Famous Plays in NFL History — Signed by Both Players

The most improbable play in NFL history might not be a Hail Mary touchdown, a trick play, or a fourth-and-long conversion. It might be a fumble that could have been avoided by doing the one thing every quarterback is taught from the first time they hold a football: taking a knee. On November 19, 1978, at Giants Stadium in the New Jersey Meadowlands, the New York Giants failed to take a knee with seconds left while leading by 5 points, fumbled a running back handoff, and watched Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Herman Herm Edwards pick up the ball and run it back for a touchdown to win the game. The NFL was never quite the same afterward. This 16x20 photo is dual-signed by both Herm Edwards and Joe Pisarcik — the two men at the center of the moment — and authenticated by Beckett BAS. There is only one Miracle at the Meadowlands.

🌟 November 19, 1978 — Giants Stadium — 17-12 — The Hand-Off That Shouldn't Have Happened

The New York Giants entered the fourth quarter of their November 19, 1978 game against the Philadelphia Eagles with a comfortable enough position — they led 17-12. The Eagles needed a score. As the clock wound down and the Giants held the ball, the standard play was obvious: take a knee, let the clock run out, win the game. Giants offensive coordinator Bob Gibson called a running play — a hand-off to fullback Larry Csonka. Giants quarterback Joe Pisarcik received the snap, turned to execute the hand-off to Csonka, and the exchange was fumbled. The ball bounced on the artificial turf of Giants Stadium. Herman Edwards — Herm Edwards — the Eagles linebacker, was in the right place at the right moment in the right frame of mind to react. He scooped up the fumble at the 26-yard line and ran untouched into the end zone. Philadelphia Eagles 19, New York Giants 17. Final.

🏆 The Aftermath — Giants Overhaul — The Fumble That Changed a Franchise

The consequences of the Miracle at the Meadowlands extended far beyond the final score of a November game. The Giants' front office and ownership responded to the outrage of the fanbase and the evident dysfunction by initiating a full organizational overhaul. Bob Gibson was fired the day after the game. The Giants hired George Young as their new general manager, who proceeded to draft Lawrence Taylor, Phil Simms, and the core of the teams that would win Super Bowl XXI and Super Bowl XXV in 1986 and 1990. The Fumble is not just an embarrassing moment in Giants history — it is, ironically, one of the moments that forced the rebuilding that created the championship Giants. The play became the defining symbol of what not to do at the end of a football game. It changed how coaches thought about clock management. Herm Edwards later built his own coaching career, most famously with the New York Jets and Kansas City Chiefs, and coined the phrase "You play to WIN the game!" Joe Pisarcik went on to coach quarterbacks at multiple levels. This 16x20 signed by both men — with the Beckett BAS authentication — is one of the great dual-signed pieces in the history of the NFL. There will never be another Miracle at the Meadowlands.

Dual-Signed — Both Men — Beckett BAS COA — A Piece of NFL History
