Autographed John Means Baltimore Orioles White Home Baseball Jersey Beckett BAS COA — Goddard Kansas Sedgwick County, West Virginia Mountaineers, 2021 No-Hitter vs Seattle Mariners, Camden Yards Baltimore, Left-Handed Pitcher Baltimore Orioles — Collector Frame Your Way

The Baltimore Orioles white. The home jersey worn at Camden Yards on the banks of the Patapsco River — and signed by the left-handed starting pitcher who on May 5, 2021 threw a no-hitter against the Seattle Mariners, one of the rarest and most complete achievements a pitcher can accomplish in a 162-game season. John Means. Authenticated by Beckett BAS. Ready for your frame, your wall, your way.

🌟 John Means — Goddard, Kansas; Great Plains; West Virginia Mountaineers

John Means was born April 24, 1993, in Goddard, Kansas — Sedgwick County, the Wichita suburb on the southern Great Plains where the horizon stretches flat to the edge of the world and the agricultural communities produce players who develop the quiet, workmanlike approach to their craft that defines so many successful pitchers. Means attended West Virginia University, where he developed as a left-handed pitcher in the Big 12 Conference and caught the attention of the Baltimore Orioles organization. He worked through the minor league system without being considered a top prospect, arriving in Baltimore as a player who had to prove himself at every level. When the Orioles called him up in 2018, he did exactly that.

🏆 May 5, 2021 — The No-Hitter — John Means Against the Seattle Mariners

No-hitters are among the rarest achievements in professional baseball. In any given season across the 162-game schedule, the average pitcher will face approximately 150 batters — one no-hitter requires getting 27 consecutive outs without allowing a single hit across an entire game. John Means did it on May 5, 2021, against the Seattle Mariners — facing 27 batters, allowing only one baserunner, striking out 12, and retiring the final batter to complete one of the most complete individual pitching performances in Baltimore Orioles history. He did it in the white home jersey — the same jersey signed on this piece — at Camden Yards, the ballpark that when it opened in 1992 redefined what a modern baseball stadium could look like and gave Baltimore one of the most beautiful settings for the game in the country.

Camden Yards, Baltimore — A Cathedral for the Game

Oriole Park at Camden Yards opened in 1992 and changed the trajectory of baseball stadium design for the next thirty years. The brick warehouse in right field. The exposed steel trusses. The asymmetric outfield dimensions. The natural grass. The decision to root the park in the specific geography and history of Baltimore rather than create a generic multi-purpose facility. Camden Yards was the first park of what became known as the retro-classic movement — the period in which every new ballpark built in America looked to Camden Yards as the template. John Means pitched in that setting, in the Orioles white, and threw one of the most memorable individual games in the building's history. This jersey, signed by Means and authenticated by Beckett BAS, connects to that no-hit afternoon. Your frame. Your wall. Your way.
