The sideline. Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. 3 minutes and 46 seconds left in Super Bowl XLVI, February 5, 2012. The New York Giants trail the New England Patriots 17-15. Eli Manning looks left and throws the ball deep toward the far sideline, where Mario Manningham is running a route with Sterling Moore of the Patriots in tight coverage. Manningham catches the ball at the 24-yard line and gets both feet in bounds before the boundary takes him. Thirty-eight yards. The play is reviewed. The call stands. The Giants have the ball at the New England 24. They score six plays later. Final score: New York Giants 21, New England Patriots 17. This 16x20 photo, signed by Mario Manningham and authenticated by JSA, is the document of the catch that set it all up.

🌟 Warren, Ohio — University of Michigan — The Giants Draft Pick Who Made the Catch of the Game

Mario Manningham was born May 25, 1987, in Warren, Ohio — the city in the Mahoning Valley of northeast Ohio, the steel country east of Cleveland that has produced football players from its culture of hard-edged competition and blue-collar tenacity. He played his college football at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor — the Big House, the winged helmet, the tradition that made Michigan one of the premier programs in college football history — before the New York Giants selected him in the third round of the 2008 NFL Draft with the 95th overall pick. He joined a Giants team that had just won Super Bowl XLII — the first Giants-Patriots Super Bowl, the David Tyree helmet catch, the 17-14 upset — and spent four seasons building toward the second one. In the fourth quarter of Super Bowl XLVI, he made the catch that sent the Giants home as champions again.

🏆 Super Bowl XLVI — The Catch — Bill Belichick Doesn't Call Timeout — Giants Win 21-17

Super Bowl XLVI on February 5, 2012, in Indianapolis was the rematch of Super Bowl XLII — the same two franchises, the same fundamental tension of the Giants' offensive line against Tom Brady and the Patriots' defense. At halftime, New England led 10-9. The Patriots took a 17-15 lead in the fourth quarter. Then Eli Manning, working from the Giants' own 12-yard line with 3:46 remaining, threw deep to Mario Manningham on the left sideline in a play that NBC analyst Al Michaels called "the catch of a lifetime." The ball, the receiver, the sideline, the coverage, the two feet confirmed in bounds — all of it combined into one of the most precise sideline catch-and-land sequences in Super Bowl history. The Giants drove the rest of the way, Ahmad Bradshaw scoring with 57 seconds remaining. Bill Belichick famously elected not to stop the clock to preserve time for one final Patriots drive, and Tom Brady's Hail Mary attempt fell incomplete. The Giants were Super Bowl champions a second time in five seasons. Manningham's catch set up the winning score. Eli Manning was named Super Bowl MVP. Mario Manningham signed the photograph. JSA authenticated it.

16x20 — JSA Authenticated — The Signature of the Moment

A signed 16x20 Mario Manningham photo from Super Bowl XLVI, authenticated by JSA, is the collectible for the moment — the singular play in a championship game that changed the outcome. The Giants beat the Patriots twice in Super Bowl settings during the Tom Brady era. The David Tyree helmet catch defined one. The Mario Manningham sideline grab defined the other. Both catches are in the canon of Super Bowl moments that get replayed when the context requires them. This one belongs to a Warren, Ohio kid who played at Michigan and caught the ball where only he could get both feet in. JSA certified. The signature of the sideline catch.
