Autographed Signed Mookie Wilson New York Mets Grey Baseball Jersey JSA COA — Bamberg South Carolina Low Country, New York Mets CF/OF, 1986 World Series Champion Mets over Red Sox 4-3 in 7 Games, The Game 6 Groundball, Fan Favorite of Shea Stadium — JSA Authenticated

The New York Mets grey. The road jersey — NEW YORK across the chest in Mets blue and orange, the colors that have defined the most passionate fan base in baseball, the team of Flushing and Shea Stadium and a championship in 1969 and another in 1986 that New York will never stop talking about. Signed by Mookie Wilson — the center fielder, the switch hitter, the leadoff catalyst, the man whose name is forever attached to one of the most dramatic moments in World Series history. Authenticated by JSA.

🌟 Mookie Wilson — Bamberg, South Carolina; The Mets; The Beloved

William Hayward Wilson — Mookie — was born February 9, 1956, in Bamberg, South Carolina, in the rural Low Country, the kind of small Southern town (population a few thousand; Bamberg County, farming and timber country between the Edisto and Combahee rivers) that shaped a man who would become one of the most beloved players in New York Mets history. He came up through the system as a switch hitter with blazing speed, became the centerfielder of the early 1980s Mets, and by 1986 was part of a team that New York fell completely in love with — the Strawberry and Gooden and Hernandez and Carter Mets, the loud and talented and colorful team that won 108 games in the regular season and then took the World Series to seven games against the Boston Red Sox and won.

🏆 1986 World Series — The Groundball

October 25, 1986. Game 6 of the World Series. Shea Stadium. Bottom of the 10th inning. The Mets down 5-3, two outs, no one on base — seemingly one out away from the Red Sox ending an 86-game World Series drought — and then a series of events unfolds that no one who watched it will ever fully recover from. Ray Knight scores. Mookie Wilson at the plate. He hits a slow ground ball down the first-base line. It rolls and rolls — and goes through the legs of Red Sox first baseman Bill Buckner. Ray Knight scores the winning run. Shea Stadium erupts. Game 7 is played two days later and the Mets win. The 1986 World Series championship belongs to New York, and the groundball through Buckner belongs to history, and the name on the bat that hit it is Mookie Wilson.

🧡 The Mets — Shea Stadium — The Fan Favorite

Mookie Wilson played for the New York Mets from 1980 to 1989, and in that time he became one of the genuine fan favorites in the history of the franchise — a player who connected with fans in a way that went beyond statistics, who represented the energy and personality of New York baseball, who ran out every groundball and played center field with the kind of enthusiasm that crowds recognize and reward. The grey road jersey he signed is the jersey of all those years and all that feeling. Signed. Authenticated by JSA. A piece of Mets history.
