Offered for the first time ever – genuine handwriting from English Evolutionary Biologist & Author Charles Darwin, authenticated and encapsulated by (BAS) Beckett Authentication Services. Each handwritten word was carefully removed from an undated handwritten letter Darwin wrote. The background of this card features an image of Darwin's tree of life sketch from his notebook where he studied the transmutation of species. Just 25 total cards for this set were made.
Each order will include one Darwin handwriting fragment selected from the dropdown menu. An example of the selection of Darwin words can be seen in the 2nd photo. Each word in the dropdown menu is an actual word handwritten by Darwin. You will receive one authentic piece of Darwin’s penmanship encapsulated by Beckett.
Each encapsulated word was individually removed from an undated letter written by Darwin responding to a Ladyship’s inquiry on the well-being of an ailing Mrs. Darwin, “…who has had a wretched time now for many months…”. Darwin’s wife, Emma, suffered from frequent, severe migraines.
Genuine Darwin autograph letters are extremely hard to come by and can fetch thousands of dollars. This encapsulated word offers a rare and affordable opportunity to own an authentic piece of Darwin's handwriting.
