The New York Islanders blue. The royal blue of the Long Island dynasty — the franchise that in four consecutive seasons from 1980 to 1983 won the Stanley Cup and established itself as one of the great team achievements in the history of professional hockey. Signed by Bryan Trottier — the center from Val Marie, Saskatchewan who carried Métis heritage from one of the most remote communities in Canada to the brightest stages in professional sports and who in the 1979-80 season was the most valuable player in the NHL, the scoring champion, and the best player on the best team in hockey. Authenticated by JSA. Framed at 35x39. Wall-ready to hang today.

🌟 Val Marie, Saskatchewan — Métis Heritage — The Most Remote Path to Hockey Greatness

Bryan John Trottier was born July 17, 1956, in Val Marie, Saskatchewan — a small community in the extreme southwestern corner of the province, on the edge of the Great Plains near the Montana border, in an area that is now part of Grasslands National Park, where the vast open landscape of the Canadian prairies stretches to the horizon without interruption. The population of Val Marie is measured in the dozens. It is one of the most remote communities in Canada. Trottier carries Métis heritage — his father was of mixed Cree First Nations and Irish descent — connecting him to the Indigenous peoples of the Canadian prairies whose history on these lands stretches back thousands of years before any hockey rink existed anywhere on earth. From Val Marie, Saskatchewan, he made his way to the NHL. He eventually made his way to the Hockey Hall of Fame.

🏆 The Islanders Dynasty — 4 Consecutive Stanley Cups — 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983

The New York Islanders of the late 1970s and early 1980s were built around a core that is among the finest in hockey history: Bryan Trottier at center, Mike Bossy on his right wing, Clark Gillies on his left, Denis Potvin anchoring the blue line, and Billy Smith in goal. From 1980 to 1983, they won four consecutive Stanley Cup championships — a feat that had not been accomplished in the NHL since the Montreal Canadiens dynasty of the late 1970s (also four straight) and that has not been matched since. Four consecutive championships. In consecutive seasons. Against the best competition the NHL had to offer. Trottier was the engine of that dynasty — the center who set up Bossy for goals and scored himself at a rate that made him the most productive offensive center in hockey. In 1979-80, he won the Hart Trophy as NHL MVP, the Art Ross Trophy as NHL scoring champion with 137 points, and the Conn Smythe Trophy as the most valuable player of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. In the same season. No one in modern hockey history has done that combination before or since.

6 Stanley Cup Championships Total — Pittsburgh Penguins — Hockey Hall of Fame 1997

After his Islanders career ended, Bryan Trottier signed with the Pittsburgh Penguins, where alongside Mario Lemieux he won two more Stanley Cup championships in 1991 and 1992 — adding to his total of four with the Islanders for six career championships, one of the highest totals in NHL history. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1997 — the HOF '97 inscription on this jersey commemorates that induction. His career totals of 524 goals, 901 assists, and 1,425 points place him among the greatest offensive players in the history of the sport. The Islanders blue signed by Trottier, framed at 35x39 and authenticated by JSA, is a piece of the most sustained dynasty in modern NHL history. Hang it today.
