Framed Autographed/Signed Gianluigi Buffon 35x39 Italy Blue Soccer Jersey with Beckett BAS COA – The Framed Hand-Signed Italy National Team Blue Soccer Jersey of Gianluigi Buffon, 2006 FIFA World Cup Champion, the Most Capped Italian Player in the History of the National Team, the Goalkeeper Whose Career at Juventus Produced a Record of Individual Excellence That Places Him in the Conversation for the Greatest Goalkeeper the Sport Has Ever Produced, Certified Authentic by Beckett Authentication Services (BAS), From the Hall of Fame Sports Collection

⚽ At the Olympiastadion in Berlin on July 9, 2006, in the final of the FIFA World Cup, France and Italy played ninety minutes of football that produced no goals and one of the most shocking moments in the tournament's history: Zinedine Zidane, the greatest player of his generation, was sent off in extra time for headbutting Marco Materazzi. The match went to penalties. Gianluigi Buffon stood in the Italian goal and watched David Trezeguet's penalty hit the crossbar and bounce down on the wrong side. Italy won the World Cup. Buffon had just won the championship. He was twenty-eight years old. 🌟

⚽ He had been in the Italian national team since 1997. He was eighteen years old when he made his debut for the Azzurri, the youngest goalkeeper ever to debut for Italy at that time. What followed across the next two decades was a career of extraordinary consistent excellence at the highest level of European club football and international competition. One hundred and seventy-six appearances for the Italian national team – an all-time record for the Azzurri. Ten Serie A titles at Juventus. Five Coppa Italias. Numerous saves at moments when saves were not supposed to be made, producing the result that the architecture of a game had not suggested was possible. Buffon produced possible. ⭐

⚽ The goalkeeping position is the most psychologically demanding in football. A single error at the wrong moment defines a game in a way that no other position's error does. Buffon played at the highest level of club and international competition for over two decades without accumulating the kind of errors that define goalkeepers at lower levels of the sport. He played behind some of the best defensive units in the history of Juventus and he played on nights when the defensive unit had broken down and he was the last line between the attacking player and the net, and in those moments he made saves that are still referenced in discussions about what goalkeeping looks like at its absolute peak. 🏆

⚽ The blue Italian jersey – the Azzurri blue that the national team has worn since the sport began organizing itself into national competitions – is the jersey Buffon wore across 176 appearances for his country. This Beckett BAS-authenticated framed 35x39 signed blue jersey is a wall-mounted collector's tribute to the goalkeeper who stood in that goal in Berlin in 2006 and won the World Cup. 🎯
