⚾ Ivan Rodriguez arrived in the Texas Rangers' organization as a 16-year-old signed out of Vega Baja, Puerto Rico – a teenager whose combination of throwing arm, receiving ability behind the plate, and baseball instincts convinced the Rangers to sign him before he had finished high school. He made his major league debut at 19 in 1991, and the 1991 Upper Deck Final Edition set captured him in that debut window – one of the earliest card products to document what would become one of the most complete catchers the game had ever seen.
