It's not just a cigar label, it's a piece of history. This label, from one of the most renowned brands, is a rare find. The outer cigar labels of this brand, a window to the past, are nearly extinct in the market. Seize this opportunity to own a piece of Americana, as I've been fortunate enough to uncover a few more of these.
Imagine this antique advertising hanging on your wall as home decor in any room! My pictures seriously don't do it justice. These labels were meticulously crafted on heavy paper stock, ensuring they stay vibrant and new-looking for a long time.
Cigar labels show you what antique advertising is all about with the wonderful graphics that lithography and embossing provide that modern printing can't reproduce. Unfortunately, this was mostly a lost art after the 1920s. Cigar Labels are a reminder of a bygone era, but the fantastic lithography process is unparalleled even today. Museums and Art Institutes have galleries dedicated to them, and more and more of them and collectors are seeking these out to preserve history. Once the limited supply for sale is gone and on display with collectors or in galleries, they will be very difficult to acquire.
Most of these artists were very good but desperate for work during that era. They got paid very little and received no recognition for their work. Unfortunately, the majority of these artists will remain unknown, but we can keep their art alive forever.
