French crescent wine labels, 1920s–1930s.

The owner records this pair as French and of the 1920s–1930s — his own attribution for the stock, since neither piece carries any printing to establish it.

A wine label of this period is usually a set rather than a single piece: a shaped body label with the estate or brand, and a plain crescent or neck strip cut to match, applied together. Both parts here are embossed rather than flat-printed, with the gold stamped into the paper so it lifts and catches the light at an angle — the more expensive of the two ways to do it, and the reason unused stock like this still reads as bright as it does.

Antique embossed wine bottle label set, New Old Stock — two pieces, never dampened, never applied to a bottle.

The upper piece is a crescent cut in a kidney curve, its border stamped in gold foil and enclosing a cream-and-grey oval on which three stars are embossed in a row. It sits over a red crosshatch band. The second piece is a plain cream crescent of the same width, cut to match. Both are embossed rather than flat-printed, and the gold catches the light at an angle.

The set measures 2¼ inches by 1¼ inches.

Neither piece carries any printing — no brand, no maker, no town, no date — so the origin is not established here and none is claimed.

Returns & Exchange

Take your time — you've got a full six months. If a piece isn't right for you, send it back the way it reached you and we're good.

In the first 30 days your money goes straight back the way you paid. After that it's store credit, so you can put it toward something you'd rather have.

Return shipping we sort out between us, case by case. I don't make this difficult.

If something arrives damaged, or it isn't what I said it was, send me a photo within 48 hours and I'll make it right.

Email info@vintageantiquesgifts.com or call 802-356-9872 — that's me answering, not a call center.

The only things I can't take back are custom or special-order pieces and gift cards.
