🏀 Autographed Brian Scalabrine Boston Celtics Green Basketball Jersey JSA COA — Born Enumclaw Washington, USC Trojans, New Jersey Nets, Boston Celtics, 2008 NBA Champion, The White Mamba, Cult Hero of the Boston Garden, JSA Authenticated — The Signature of the Fan Favorite Who Earned a Ring

The Boston Celtics green. Signed by Brian Scalabrine — the White Mamba. The reserve forward from Enumclaw, Washington who played 11 seasons in the NBA and won the 2008 NBA Championship with the Boston Celtics alongside Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, and Ray Allen, and who became in the process one of the most beloved cult figures in the history of Boston sports. JSA authenticated. This is the jersey of the player the Boston Garden crowd cheered for in a way that transcended his statistical production — because Scalabrine represented something the crowd understood intuitively: he was there, in the NBA, doing the work, on the most celebrated team of his era, and he was enjoying every second of it. The White Mamba. Signed. Green. Authentic.

🌟 Enumclaw, Washington — USC — The 35th Pick — The Nets — The Celtics

Brian Scalabrine was born March 18, 1978, in Enumclaw, Washington — a small city of about ten thousand people in the foothills of the Cascade Range in King County, positioned between Auburn and Mount Rainier, a place where the landscape is dramatic and the basketball was not necessarily expected to produce a professional player. He attended the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, played for the Trojans, and was selected 35th overall by the New Jersey Nets in the 2001 NBA Draft. He spent four seasons with the Nets, reaching back-to-back NBA Finals alongside Jason Kidd, Richard Jefferson, and Kenyon Martin in 2002 and 2003. He signed with the Boston Celtics in 2005 and remained through the championship year and beyond. When the Celtics moved him to the Chicago Bulls in 2009, the Boston Garden gave him a farewell in the form of a crowd response that a 6-9 reserve forward from Enumclaw, Washington, should not have been able to generate — except that this was Brian Scalabrine, and the Boston crowd understood exactly who they were cheering for.

🏆 The 2008 NBA Championship — The Big Three — The White Mamba's Ring

The 2008 Boston Celtics are one of the most celebrated teams in NBA history. Danny Ainge assembled the Big Three — Kevin Garnett (acquired from Minnesota), Ray Allen (acquired from Seattle), and Paul Pierce (the franchise cornerstone) — and surrounded them with a roster that included Rajon Rondo at point guard, James Posey, P.J. Brown, Eddie House, Tony Allen, and Brian Scalabrine. The Celtics finished 66-16 in the regular season, the best record in the NBA. Their playoff run was anything but easy — a seven-game battle with the upstart Atlanta Hawks in the first round, followed by an even more grueling seven-game war with LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers in the second round that is still remembered as one of the greatest series in NBA playoff history. Boston then defeated the Detroit Pistons in the Eastern Conference Finals and met the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA Finals. The Celtics won in six games — the championship-clinching Game 6 in Boston Garden on June 17, 2008, Paul Pierce named Finals MVP. Brian Scalabrine was there for all of it, through every grueling round. He had a ring. Enumclaw, Washington had an NBA champion.

The White Mamba — The Cult Hero — The Player Who Beat Everyone

The "White Mamba" nickname — a play on Kobe Bryant's "Black Mamba" — was given to Scalabrine by fans who recognized in him the same competitiveness and desire that Bryant embodied, operating at a completely different level of ability but with identical commitment to the idea that basketball is something you play as hard as you possibly can every time you step on the floor. After his playing career ended, a Boston-area promotion gave fans the chance to play Brian Scalabrine one-on-one. Every fan who accepted lost by significant margins. The White Mamba made the point that the gap between the worst player in the NBA and the best recreational player is still an insurmountable distance. He is now an NBA analyst and broadcaster, bringing the same enthusiasm to the television studio that he brought to late-game minutes in the Garden. The Celtics green jersey, signed by Scalabrine and authenticated by JSA, is the collectible for the fan who got it — who understood that the White Mamba was the heart of a championship team, not despite his role, but because of how fully he embraced it.
