Autographed/Signed Dave Righetti New York Pinstripe Baseball Jersey JSA COA – A JSA Full Letter Authenticated Autographed New York Yankees Home Pinstripe Baseball Jersey of the 1981 American League Rookie of the Year Who Threw a Fourth of July No-Hitter Against the Boston Red Sox in 1983 and Set the American League Saves Record with 46 in 1986 – A Yankees Legend in Two Roles

⚾ On July 4, 1983, Dave Righetti stood on the mound at Yankee Stadium against the Boston Red Sox – Independence Day, the fiercest rival, the most storied venue in American League baseball – and threw a no-hitter. He struck out nine batters. He walked four. He retired the last out on a Wade Boggs strikeout to end the game, the first no-hitter by a Yankees pitcher since Don Larsen's perfect game in the 1956 World Series. That the victim was the Red Sox, on the Fourth of July, in the Bronx, made the moment something that Yankees fans of that generation discuss with the same reverence they bring to the franchise's championship memories. Righetti had earned his place as a starter in the first place by winning the 1981 American League Rookie of the Year award, coming up through the Yankees system and establishing himself as a legitimate top-of-rotation arm during the franchise's competitive years in the early 1980s. When the Yankees converted him to closer after the 1983 season – the no-hitter notwithstanding – his role in the franchise shifted but his dominance did not. By 1986, he had saved 46 games in a single season, setting an American League record that stood until Bobby Thigpen broke it in 1990. The pinstripe jersey he wore across all those years – starting, closing, and everything in between – is the Yankees' most iconic uniform, the one that connects every decade of the franchise's history. His full authenticated signature on it, with JSA COA, makes it a collector piece that spans one of the more complete individual careers in Yankees annals. Condition: NOS.

⚾ Dave Righetti was born in San Jose, California, on November 28, 1958, and came up through the Yankees organization from the 1977 draft. After his playing career – which ended with stints at the Giants, A's, and several other clubs after leaving New York in 1990 – he became a respected pitching coach at the major league level, spending decades developing talent with the San Francisco Giants among other teams. The legacy of his playing years, though, belongs to Yankee Stadium: the Fourth of July no-hitter, the 1986 saves record, the 1981 Rookie of the Year award, and more than a decade of sustained performance that the franchise has not forgotten. The home pinstripe jersey in his signature, authenticated by JSA, is the primary artifact of that career. Condition: NOS.
