🏈 Autographed/Signed Doug Pederson Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl LII Champions 8x10 Football Photo Beckett BAS COA — The Authenticated Signature of the Eagles' Head Coach on a Championship Photo From the Night Philadelphia Ended Its Super Bowl Drought With One of the Most Daring Game Plans in Modern NFL History

🏈 Super Bowl LII, played on February 4, 2018, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, was the game that Philadelphia had been building toward and dreaming about for the full length of the franchise's existence without a championship — and it ended in the most complete and convincing way a football game can end, 41-33 over the New England Patriots, with a final offensive performance that produced more points than any team had ever scored against a Bill Belichick-coached team in the Super Bowl era. The architect of that performance, the person who called the game plan and made every decision from the first possession to the final victory formation, was Doug Pederson.

🏈 Pederson's game plan was aggressive from the first snap in a way that Super Bowl game plans typically are not — teams generally play conservatively against the Patriots because the margin for error against Belichick-coached defenses punishes mistakes severely. Pederson took the opposite approach: he called the full offense, he went for it on fourth down, and in the first half he called the most famous play of the Super Bowl era. On 4th-and-goal with 38 seconds left before halftime, instead of kicking a field goal to take a six-point lead, Pederson called the Philly Special — a play in which Nick Foles lined up as a receiver, took a lateral from the running back, and ran a route into the end zone where tight end Trey Burton's pass found him for a touchdown. The play worked. The score was 22-12 at halftime. The Eagles never trailed in the second half.

🏈 Nick Foles, the backup quarterback who had started the game because Carson Wentz had torn his ACL in December, won Super Bowl MVP for a performance that stands as one of the most improbable individual performances in championship history — a backup, in his first Super Bowl start, outperforming the quarterback on the other side who was playing in his eighth. Foles reportedly called the Philly Special himself at the line of scrimmage. Pederson agreed without hesitation. That exchange — a coach confident enough in his backup quarterback's read of the defense to let him call a trick play on fourth down in the Super Bowl — is the specific kind of moment that defines the relationship between a great coach and the players he trusted.

🏈 The win was Philadelphia's first Super Bowl in franchise history. The celebration in the city was the kind of celebration that only happens when a sporting event ends a wait that spans generations of fans who grew up watching the team without experiencing a championship. Doug Pederson is the coach who delivered it.
