Description

🏒 Mike Richter Signed New York Rangers White Hockey Jersey — PSA/DNA COA — 1994 Stanley Cup Champion, Abington Pennsylvania, University of Wisconsin Badgers, Display Your Way

For 54 years, Madison Square Garden waited. The New York Rangers had not won the Stanley Cup since 1940 — one of the longest championship droughts in professional sports history — and by 1994, the city had almost stopped expecting it. Then Mike Richter played the most important goaltending series in Rangers franchise history. In the 1994 Stanley Cup Playoffs, Richter stopped everything: the Devils in a seven-game Eastern Conference Final (including a legendary performance in Game 7), and the Vancouver Canucks in a seven-game Stanley Cup Final that ended with the Rangers raising the Cup on Garden ice for the first time since the Roosevelt administration. The scoreboard at the Garden lit up: "NOW I CAN DIE IN PEACE." Mike Richter made that night possible.

🏒 Born in Abington, Pennsylvania and developed as a goaltender at the University of Wisconsin (where he became one of the finest college goalies in Badgers history), Richter was selected by the Rangers in the 2nd round of the 1985 NHL Draft (28th overall) and debuted in 1988. He spent his entire 15-year NHL career with the Rangers (1988-2003), going to two All-Star Games, backstopping the 1994 Cup run, and having his number 35 retired by the franchise. The Rangers have never had a goaltender who mattered more at a single moment than Richter mattered in 1994.

This signed Rangers white hockey jersey comes PSA/DNA authenticated and unframed — ready to display your way. The white Rangers jersey, the road colorway of the Cup-winning team, signed by the man who stopped every shot that mattered. Display your way: shadowbox it, custom frame it, hang it alongside your Rangers collection. Abington, Pennsylvania. University of Wisconsin Badgers. 1994 Stanley Cup champion. The moment the 54-year drought ended.
