๐Ÿ€ Autographed/Signed Muggsy Bogues Space Jam Monstars Black Basketball Jersey โ€” PSA/DNA COA โ€” Baltimore, Maryland โ€” Wake Forest University โ€” Charlotte Hornets โ€” Shortest Player in NBA History โ€” 1996 Space Jam Film โ€” PSA/DNA Certificate of Authenticity

๐Ÿ€ Muggsy Bogues signed this Space Jam Monstars black basketball jersey himself โ€” the autograph of the 5-foot-3-inch Charlotte Hornets point guard who became the shortest player in NBA history, who played the game with a combination of speed, ball-handling, and instinct that made his diminutive stature not just irrelevant but occasionally advantageous, and who in 1996 appeared in the Warner Bros. film Space Jam as one of the NBA players whose basketball talent was stolen by the Monstars โ€” the alien villains in black uniforms whose team of five played against Michael Jordan and the Tune Squad for the fate of Looney Tunes characters' freedom. Authenticated and certified by PSA/DNA, this signed Monstars black jersey is the collectible of Muggsy in a specific pop culture context that an entire generation of basketball fans grew up watching. Condition: NOS.

๐ŸŒŸ Baltimore, Maryland โ€” Wake Forest โ€” The Smallest Player the NBA Has Ever Had

๐ŸŒŸ Tyrone Curtis "Muggsy" Bogues was born on January 9, 1965, in Baltimore, Maryland โ€” the Dunbar High School product from east Baltimore whose teammates and classmates included Reggie Lewis and Reggie Williams, part of the storied 1982-83 Dunbar team considered one of the greatest high school basketball programs in American history. He played at Wake Forest University before the Washington Bullets selected him 12th overall in the 1987 NBA Draft โ€” making him the highest-drafted player under 5'6" in draft history. The Charlotte Hornets claimed him in the 1988 expansion draft, and the most famous point guard in Hornets franchise history began his career in teal and purple. Condition: NOS.

๐Ÿ† Space Jam 1996 โ€” The Monstars and the Stolen Talent

๐Ÿ† In the 1996 Warner Bros. film Space Jam, Muggsy Bogues was one of five NBA players whose basketball talent was stolen by the Monstars โ€” alien creatures from Moron Mountain who absorbed the abilities of NBA stars to win a game against Michael Jordan's Tune Squad team. The film depicted Bogues losing his skills alongside Patrick Ewing, Charles Barkley, Muggsy Bogues, Larry Johnson, and Shawn Bradley, leaving him temporarily unable to play the game he had mastered. The Monstars wore black uniforms in the film. The signed Monstars black jersey is the memorabilia piece from that intersection of basketball and pop culture that Space Jam created โ€” one of the most celebrated sports films of the 1990s whose cultural reach extended well beyond basketball fans. PSA/DNA COA. Condition: NOS.

โญ The Shortest Player โ€” What Muggsy Bogues Proved Was Possible

โญ Muggsy Bogues played 14 seasons in the NBA at a height that every conventional threshold for the sport โ€” minimum height requirements for certain scholarships, the standard assumptions about what basketball players look like at the professional level โ€” declared unsuitable for major professional competition. He averaged 7.7 assists per game for his career. He stole the ball nearly 2,000 times. He played against centers who were more than two feet taller than him. The Monstars black jersey carries that career โ€” the career of the 5-foot-3 point guard from Baltimore who played alongside the best basketball players in the world for a decade and a half. PSA/DNA COA. Condition: NOS.

๐Ÿ€๐ŸŒŸ Muggsy Bogues. Baltimore, Maryland. Wake Forest University. Charlotte Hornets (1988-1997). Golden State Warriors, Toronto Raptors, Washington Bullets.
