The Georgetown Hoyas blue. The jersey of one of the most historically significant programs in East Coast college basketball — and signed by the player who wore it before becoming the most culturally influential basketball player of his generation. Allen Iverson. The Answer. Before the Philadelphia 76ers, before the crossover dribble that changed basketball, before the cornrows and the tattoos and the 2001 MVP season that captured the imagination of an entire generation — there was Georgetown, and John Thompson, and the Hoyas blue. Signed by Iverson. Authenticated by JSA. Framed at 35x39. Wall-ready to hang today.

🌟 Allen Iverson — Hampton, Virginia; Georgetown; The Answer Before the NBA

Allen Iverson was born June 7, 1975, in Hampton, Virginia — the Hampton Roads area, the Tidewater region of coastal Virginia where the Chesapeake Bay meets the Atlantic, where the military community and the port culture and the historically significant geography of the oldest English-speaking settlement in North America define the character of the place. Hampton produced one of the most complete basketball talents of his generation, and Iverson arrived at Georgetown University in 1994 to play for one of the most respected coaches in the sport: John Thompson, who had built the Hoyas into a Big East power. In two seasons at Georgetown, Iverson averaged 20.4 points per game, made All-Big East selections, and showed the basketball world a player who was going to be something extraordinary when he got to the pros.

🏆 1st Overall Pick 1996 — 2001 NBA MVP — The Six-Year Journey from Georgetown to the Finals

The Philadelphia 76ers selected Allen Iverson 1st overall in the 1996 NBA Draft. He spent the next two decades as one of the most dynamic, talented, and culturally transformative players in professional basketball history. The 2001 season was his defining year: the NBA MVP, four NBA scoring championships (1999, 2001, 2002, 2005), 11 All-Star game appearances, and the 2001 NBA Finals — where the Sixers defeated the Milwaukee Bucks in the Eastern Conference Finals and faced the Los Angeles Lakers, and Iverson delivered a 48-point performance in a Game 1 overtime victory that remains one of the great individual Finals performances in NBA history.

Basketball Hall of Fame 2016 — The Georgetown Jersey — The Beginning

Allen Iverson was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2016. His Georgetown Hoyas blue jersey — the college jersey that represents the beginning, the formation of the player before the NBA, the John Thompson development and the Big East competition — signed and framed at 35x39, authenticated by JSA. Before The Answer was The Answer, there was a Georgetown Hoya. This is that jersey, signed by the man who became one of the most important players in basketball history.
