Autographed/Signed Bob Gibson St. Louis Blue Baseball Jersey — JSA COA — Framed — 1.12 ERA (1968) — 2x Cy Young Award — 2x World Series Champion — Omaha, Nebraska — Hall of Fame 1981 — Now Finite

⚾ On October 2, 2020, baseball lost Bob Gibson — and with his passing, every signed Bob Gibson piece of memorabilia in existence became permanently finite. No new signatures will ever join the universe of authenticated Bob Gibson collectibles. The pool closed on October 2, 2020, and what exists now is what will always exist — a fixed inventory of authenticated signatures from the pitcher who posted a 1.12 ERA in 1968, who won the Cy Young Award twice, who won two World Series championships with the St. Louis Cardinals, and who was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1981 in his first year of eligibility. This is the St. Louis blue baseball jersey signed by Bob Gibson and authenticated by James Spence Authentication (JSA), framed and ready for display — a certified piece from one of the most dominant right-handed pitchers in the history of the sport. Condition: NOS.

🌾 Omaha, Nebraska — Where a Legend Was Born

🌾 Robert Gibson was born on November 9, 1935, in Omaha, Nebraska — the largest city in the Great Plains state, a Midwest city with a baseball tradition that produced one of the sport's great right-handed pitchers and shaped the character that defined Gibson's competitive edge across seventeen major league seasons. Omaha in the 1930s and 1940s was a city where athletic talent was developed in the face of the segregation-era barriers that limited the venues and institutions available to Black athletes — and the resilience that Gibson developed competing in that environment was the same competitive drive that made him unwilling to concede anything on the pitcher's mound for the entirety of his professional career. Condition: NOS.

🏆 1968 — The Greatest Pitching Season in the Live-Ball Era

🏆 No starting pitcher in the history of major league baseball has matched what Bob Gibson accomplished in the 1968 season. In 34 starts, Gibson produced a 1.12 ERA across 304 innings — the lowest earned run average of any starting pitcher with at least 200 innings since 1919, a number so far below every other elite pitcher's performance that season that it prompted Major League Baseball to lower the pitcher's mound from 15 inches to 10 inches the following year to restore competitive balance between pitching and offense. Gibson went 22-9 in 1968, struck out 268 batters, threw 13 shutouts, and won both the National League Cy Young Award and the National League Most Valuable Player Award — the first pitcher to win the MVP since Hal Newhouser in 1945. Condition: NOS.

Two World Series Championships — 1964 and 1967

⭐ Bob Gibson won two World Series championships with the St. Louis Cardinals — in 1964 against the New York Yankees and in 1967 against the Boston Red Sox. His 1967 World Series performance was one of the most dominant pitching performances in Fall Classic history — three complete game wins across the seven-game series, including a Game 7 complete game victory. His 1968 World Series performance came against the Detroit Tigers and, while the Cardinals ultimately lost that series, Gibson struck out 17 batters in Game 1 — a World Series single-game strikeout record that stood for over fifty years. Condition: NOS.
