Description

Framed Autographed/Signed Bob Horner 35x39 Atlanta Light Blue Baseball Jersey JSA COA – The Authenticated In-Person Signature of Bob Horner, Atlanta Braves Third Baseman, 1978 National League Rookie of the Year, and the Only Player in NL History to Hit Four Home Runs in a Single Game Without His Team Winning

⚾ Bob Horner was born on August 6, 1957, in Junction City, Kansas, starred in college at Arizona State University, and entered professional baseball in 1978 in one of the most direct paths to the major leagues in the sport's history: the Atlanta Braves drafted him and promoted him directly from college to the big leagues without a single day in the minor leagues. He responded to that vote of confidence immediately – winning the National League Rookie of the Year Award in 1978 in his first professional season at the highest level of the game, establishing from his first September that he belonged in a lineup against major league pitching from the moment he arrived in Atlanta.

⚾ He spent most of the next decade as one of the most feared power hitters in the National League, and on July 6, 1986, at Atlanta–Fulton County Stadium against the Montreal Expos, he delivered one of the most remarkable single-game offensive performances in baseball history: four home runs in a single game, achieved across one afternoon in one of the most emphatic individual power displays the sport can produce. What made the moment even more singular was that the Braves lost the game anyway – making Horner the only National League player to hit four home runs in a game and leave the park on the losing side. The light blue Atlanta road jersey from his Braves era carries his signature in a piece of Georgia baseball history. Framed at 35x39 inches. Authenticated by James Spence Authentication (JSA) with a Certificate of Authenticity (COA). Condition: NOS.
