Framed Autographed/Signed Joe Maddon 35x39 Chicago Cubs Blue Baseball Jersey JSA COA — A Certified Authentic Signed and Framed Cubs Jersey from the Manager Who Ended 108 Years of Waiting on the North Side of Chicago, the Architect of One of the Most Emotionally Significant Championship Victories in the History of American Professional Sports

⚾ The Chicago Cubs had not won the World Series since 1908 when Joe Maddon took over as their manager before the 2015 season. One hundred and seven years of accumulated longing, of seasons that ended in familiar disappointment, of fans who had inherited the expectation of heartbreak from parents who had inherited it from grandparents who had been young when the Cubs last won. Maddon walked into Wrigley Field with the specific mission of changing that story, armed with a philosophy of managing that he had developed across decades of working with professional baseball players, and he did exactly what he had been hired to do: in November of 2016, the Chicago Cubs won the World Series for the first time in 108 years, completing a seven-game series against the Cleveland Indians in extra innings of Game 7, in a game that was watched by an audience that understood they were witnessing one of the most significant moments in the sport's long history.

⚾ Joe Maddon was born on February 8, 1964, in Hazleton, Pennsylvania, and spent his playing career as a catcher in the minor leagues of the California Angels organization before transitioning into a coaching career that would eventually take him to the top of the profession. He spent more than a decade as a coach and bench coach with the Angels, developing the baseball knowledge and the player-relationship philosophy that defined his management approach, before the Tampa Bay Rays hired him as their manager before the 2006 season.

⚾ What he did in Tampa Bay is its own chapter in baseball management history. The Rays were a franchise that had never won more than 70 games in a season, playing in an outdated stadium in front of small crowds, with a payroll that placed them at the bottom of the American League East against the Yankees and Red Sox. Maddon transformed the culture of that organization — not by acquiring the talent that the payroll did not allow him to acquire, but by creating an environment in which the talent already in the building developed to a level that allowed it to compete. In 2008, his third season managing the team, the Tampa Bay Rays went to the World Series. In 2011 they came within hours of missing the playoffs entirely before completing one of the most dramatic September comebacks in baseball history to claim a Wild Card spot on the final day of the regular season.

⚾ He came to Chicago in 2015 and spent five seasons managing the Cubs — years that produced the 2016 championship, multiple division titles, and a sustained period of excellence that confirmed the franchise's rebuild as the most successful reconstruction project in the modern era of the sport. His managing philosophy — the creative lineup construction, the willingness to deploy his roster in unconventional ways, the player-empowerment culture that gave his teams an identity that went beyond the individual players in it — was visible in every game the Cubs played during those years at Wrigley Field.
