The Oakland Athletics white. The home jersey of the franchise that in the late 1980s was the most feared team in the American League — the dynasty built around power, speed, and the kind of physical talent that came along only once in a generation. At the center of it all was Jose Canseco: the 1988 AL MVP, the first player in baseball history to hit 40 home runs and steal 40 bases in the same season, the right fielder who along with Mark McGwire formed one of the most celebrated power partnerships in baseball history. Signed by Canseco. Authenticated by JSA. Framed at 35x39. Wall-ready to hang today.

🌟 Jose Canseco — Havana, Cuba; Miami, Florida; The Physical Phenomenon

Jose Canseco was born July 2, 1964, in Havana, Cuba — the island capital, the Caribbean city of the Malecon and the colonial architecture and the baseball culture that has produced more major league talent per capita than almost any place on earth. His family left Cuba and settled in Carol City, in northern Miami-Dade County, Florida — the working-class suburb where Canseco grew up and developed into the most physically imposing baseball prospect the Oakland Athletics had ever seen. He came up through the A's system and debuted in 1985, and within three seasons had produced one of the most dominant individual offensive campaigns in the history of the sport.

🏆 The 40-40 Season — 1988 AL MVP — First in Baseball History

The 1988 season was Jose Canseco doing something no player in major league history had ever done: he hit 42 home runs and stole 40 bases in the same season, becoming the first 40-40 player in the history of the sport. He also drove in 124 runs and was named the American League MVP — an award that recognized not just the historic 40-40 achievement but the totality of a season that made Canseco the most talked-about player in baseball. The Oakland Athletics in 1988 reached the World Series (losing to the Dodgers); in 1989 they returned and won the World Series, defeating the San Francisco Giants 4-0 in the series interrupted by the Loma Prieta earthquake. Canseco was part of both teams.

The Bash Brothers — Mark McGwire — 1989 World Series Champions

Jose Canseco and Mark McGwire in Oakland were the Bash Brothers — a marketing concept and a genuine athletic reality: two of the most physically imposing power hitters in the sport hitting back-to-back in an A's lineup that was the most feared in the American League. The white home jersey of the Athletics, worn at the Oakland Coliseum during the dynasty years, signed by Canseco, framed at 35x39, authenticated by JSA. A piece from one of baseball most dominant teams of the modern era, signed by its most electric offensive player.
