🏀 Framed Autographed Lenny Wilkens St. Louis Hawks Red Basketball Jersey JSA COA — Brooklyn New York Providence College, Nine-Time NBA All-Star Player, Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame As Both Player 1989 and Coach 1998, 1979 NBA Champion Seattle SuperSonics, All-Time Coaching Wins Record — Framed 35x39 Wall Ready Hang It Today

The St. Louis Hawks red. The jersey of a franchise that existed before the Atlanta relocation, before the name belonged to the Southeast, when the Hawks played their home games in Missouri and one of the most skilled point guards of his era ran the offense. Signed by Lenny Wilkens — one of the rarest distinctions in basketball history: a player enshrined in the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame for both playing and coaching. Authenticated by JSA. Framed at 35x39. Wall-ready to hang today.

🌟 Lenny Wilkens — Brooklyn, New York; Providence College; A Point Guard Ahead of His Era

Lenny Wilkens was born October 28, 1937, in Brooklyn, New York — the borough that in the 1930s and 1940s was a rich ecosystem of competitive basketball played on outdoor courts and in Catholic Youth Organization gyms and school gymnasiums where the city game was developed and refined by generations of players. Wilkens came from that environment, attended Providence College in Rhode Island — the Providence Friars, a program in the Big East that produced professional players year after year — and graduated in 1960. The St. Louis Hawks selected him in the NBA Draft that year. He arrived in Missouri as a smart, pass-first guard who understood the geometry of the court in ways that defied his era's preference for the more direct players. He was thinking three passes ahead before the play developed.

🏆 St. Louis Hawks — Nine-Time NBA All-Star — The Player Era

Lenny Wilkens played for the St. Louis Hawks from 1960 to 1968 — eight seasons in the Missouri city that had the franchise when it still carried the name. The Hawks were one of the NBA's established franchises: they had won the 1958 NBA championship and they had the nucleus of a competitive team throughout the early 1960s with Bob Pettit, Cliff Hagan, and others. Wilkens was selected to nine NBA All-Star Games as a player, won the NBA All-Star Game MVP award in 1971, and demonstrated across his playing career that the position of point guard could be something more nuanced and more powerful than simply distributing the ball. He was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame as a player in 1989.

1979 NBA Champion Coach — All-Time Coaching Wins — Hall of Fame as a Coach, 1998

After his playing career, Lenny Wilkens became a coach — one of the greatest in the history of the sport. He coached the Seattle SuperSonics to the 1979 NBA Championship, defeating the Washington Bullets four games to one, the only championship in the history of the Seattle franchise. He went on to accumulate 1,332 career coaching victories, the all-time record at the time of his retirement. In 1998, the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame inducted Wilkens as a coach — making him one of the extremely rare individuals in the history of the sport to be honored by the Hall for both playing and coaching. The red St. Louis Hawks jersey represents his foundation: the player era, the nine All-Star Games, the Missouri city where a Hall of Famer's career began. JSA authenticated. Framed at 35x39.
