Description

Autographed/Signed Steve Sax Los Angeles Dodgers White Baseball Jersey — JSA COA — Framed — 1982 NL Rookie of the Year — 5x All-Star — 1988 World Series Champion — West Sacramento, California

⚾ The Los Angeles Dodgers of the 1980s were built on starting pitching, manufacturing runs, and the kind of disciplined positional development that had defined the franchise since the Brooklyn era — and at second base, Steve Sax embodied all three of those organizational values across eight seasons at Dodger Stadium. He won the Rookie of the Year Award in 1982, appeared in five All-Star Games, and was the second baseman on the 1988 World Series championship team that shocked the Oakland Athletics with the most memorable single swing in modern World Series history. This is the Los Angeles Dodgers white baseball jersey signed by Steve Sax and authenticated by James Spence Authentication (JSA), framed and ready for display — a certified piece from the second baseman who wore Dodger blue for a generation of Los Angeles baseball fans. Condition: NOS.

🌊 West Sacramento, California — Where Sax's Baseball Story Began

🌊 Steve Sax was born on January 29, 1960, in West Sacramento — a city directly across the Sacramento River from Sacramento itself, in the agricultural heart of the Central Valley, in a California that in 1960 was entering the baseball boom that would follow the Dodgers' and Giants' westward migration just two years prior. From West Sacramento, Sax developed through the California high school baseball system before the Dodgers drafted him in the 9th round of the 1978 MLB Draft — a development investment by the organization that paid off when Sax reached the major leagues in 1981 and immediately demonstrated the on-base skills, the bat-handling ability, and the athletic profile that the Dodgers' instruction model was designed to develop. Condition: NOS.

🏆 1982 NL Rookie of the Year — The Second Baseman Arrives

🏆 Steve Sax won the National League Rookie of the Year Award for the 1982 season — his first full year at the major league level, in which he produced a .282 batting average and the kind of spark-plug offensive production from the leadoff position that the Dodgers offense was organized around. The Rookie of the Year recognition placed Sax alongside a list of Dodger rookies who had won the award before him — a franchise tradition of player development excellence that the organization had maintained from Sandy Koufax through Ron Cey through Fernando Valenzuela. Condition: NOS.

1988 World Series — The Championship Year

⭐ Steve Sax was the second baseman on the 1988 Los Angeles Dodgers — the team that entered the World Series as underdogs against the Oakland Athletics' three-time-straight American League championship dynasty and that produced one of the greatest upsets in Fall Classic history, winning the series in five games. Game 1's ninth inning — Kirk Gibson hobbling to the plate as a pinch-hitter, barely able to walk on injured legs, hitting a walk-off home run off Dennis Eckersley — set the emotional tone for an entire series, and Sax was part of the roster that delivered the championship. Condition: NOS.
