The New York Yankees pinstripe. The most iconic baseball uniform in the world — the jersey of Ruth and Gehrig and DiMaggio and Mantle and Jeter and Boggs. Signed by Wade Boggs — the hitting artisan from Tampa, Florida who spent a decade as one of the most consistent batting champions in American League history with the Boston Red Sox, made the move across the rivalry to New York as a Yankee in 1993, won the 1996 World Series championship, and celebrated by famously riding a horse around Yankee Stadium. Also: the chicken. Authenticated by Beckett BAS. Framed at 35x39. Wall-ready to hang today.

🌟 Omaha, Nebraska; Tampa, Florida — The Making of a Hitting Artisan

Wade Anthony Boggs was born June 15, 1958, in Omaha, Nebraska, but grew up in Tampa, Florida — the Bay Area of the Gulf Coast, the city of sunshine and the warm Florida winters that allowed year-round baseball development. He attended Plant High School in Tampa, developed into one of the finest contact hitters in the region, and was selected by the Boston Red Sox in the 7th round of the 1976 amateur draft. He spent years in the minor leagues before making his major league debut in 1982 — but when he arrived, he immediately demonstrated a plate discipline and contact skill that placed him among the elite hitters of his era. He also ate chicken before every game. Every single game. A ritual that began when he had chicken during a hitting slump and broke out of it, and that became one of the most beloved superstitions in baseball history.

🏆 Boston Red Sox — 5x AL Batting Champion — Career .328 Average

With the Boston Red Sox from 1982 to 1992, Wade Boggs established himself as the greatest contact hitter in the American League. He won the AL batting title in 1983, then won it again in 1985, 1986, 1987, and 1988 — four consecutive batting titles, five total, making him the dominant batting average hitter in the league for a decade. His career average of .328 places him among the all-time great hitters for average. He made 12 All-Star appearances. He won 2 Gold Gloves at third base. The Red Sox declined to re-sign him after 1992. The New York Yankees called.

The Yankees — 1996 World Series Champion — The Horse Ride Around Yankee Stadium

Wade Boggs joined the New York Yankees in 1993 and spent five seasons in pinstripes. In 1996, the Yankees won the World Series — their first championship since 1978, the beginning of the dynasty that would define the franchise for the rest of the decade and into the next. After the final out of Game 6 of the 1996 World Series, Wade Boggs was on the field in celebration when a police officer offered him a ride on his horse — a New York City mounted police horse. Boggs climbed up and rode it around the field at Yankee Stadium while the crowd cheered. It became one of the most memorable and unexpected images in World Series celebration history. The Yankees Pinstripe jersey signed by Boggs is the jersey of those five seasons — the batting champion who crossed the rivalry and won the ring. Beckett BAS authenticated. Framed at 35x39.
