🏈 Randy White 1977 Topps #342 2nd Year Football Card — Graded PSA 9 Mint — Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania — Dallas Cowboys Defensive Tackle — The Manster — Super Bowl XII Co-MVP — Nine-Time Pro Bowl — University of Maryland — Hall of Fame 1994 — PSA 9 Mint on a Vintage 1977 Card

🏈 To understand the Dallas Cowboys' defensive identity of the 1970s — the 'Doomsday Defense' that made Dallas one of the most feared teams in the NFC — is to understand what it meant to watch Randy White operate at defensive tackle. 'The Manster' — half man, half monster, as his teammates called him — was the interior disruption that the Cowboys' defense was built around: a player whose combination of first-step quickness, physical power, and relentless motor made him one of the most unblockable interior linemen in the history of the game. Nine Pro Bowl selections. A Super Bowl XII Co-MVP award. A Hall of Fame plaque in Canton, Ohio, acquired in 1994. This 1977 Topps #342 Randy White second-year card, graded PSA 9 Mint by Professional Sports Authenticator, is one of the finest surviving examples of a card from one of the Cowboys' most celebrated defensive players during the franchise's first dynasty era. Condition: NOS.

🌟 Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania — The University of Maryland Pipeline

Randy White was born on January 15, 1953, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and later attended Thomas McKean High School in Wilmington, Delaware, where his standout play first attracted major college recruiting attention. His career at the University of Maryland produced the dominant defensive performance that made him the second overall pick in the 1975 NFL Draft, selected by the Dallas Cowboys immediately after only Steve Bartkowski. The Cowboys had identified exactly what they were getting: a player whose physical gifts and competitive motor were rare enough at the NFL level to justify the premium of a second overall selection. Condition: NOS.

🏆 Super Bowl XII Co-MVP — The Doomsday Defense at Its Peak

In Super Bowl XII — played on January 15, 1978, at the Louisiana Superdome — Randy White shared the game's Most Valuable Player Award with teammate Harvey Martin, in recognition of a defensive performance that held the Denver Broncos to 10 points and produced eight turnovers. The 'Orange Crush' defense of Denver had been one of the AFC's most celebrated units during the regular season; the Doomsday Defense dismantled them completely. White's interior presence was central to that performance, and his co-MVP award remains one of the few times in Super Bowl history that the award went to a defensive lineman. Condition: NOS.

The 1977 Topps Card — Documenting a Career in Progress

The 1977 Topps football set was produced midway through Randy White's development arc — his second year card in a professional career that was still building toward its peak. The year following this card's production would be the Super Bowl XII season, making the 1977 Topps card the document of White on the cusp of his most celebrated professional achievement. A PSA 9 Mint grade on a card approaching fifty years old is an exceptional survival story for a card of this vintage. Condition: NOS.

📋 PSA 9 Mint — Professional Grade on a 1977 Vintage Card

This Randy White 1977 Topps #342 card carries a PSA 9 Mint grade — the second-highest grade Professional Sports Authenticator awards, indicating a card with minimal wear, sharp corners, strong centering, and surface quality that represents the upper range of what a card of this vintage can achieve.
