🏀 Graded PSA 10 Gem Mint Carmelo Anthony 2003-04 Bowman Rookies & Stars #140 Rookie RC Basketball Card — Born Brooklyn New York, Raised Baltimore Maryland, Syracuse University 2003 NCAA Champion, 3rd Overall Pick 2003 NBA Draft Denver Nuggets, 10x NBA All-Star, Knicks All-Time Leading Scorer, 2x Olympic Gold Medalist — PSA 10 GEM MINT

The 2003 NBA Draft is the most celebrated draft class in the history of professional basketball — LeBron James first, Dwyane Wade fifth, Chris Bosh fourth, and Carmelo Anthony third. Four Hall of Fame trajectories announced in a single June evening in Madison Square Garden. Carmelo Anthony, the Brooklyn-born, Baltimore-raised forward from Syracuse, was the third name called. He had just won the NCAA Championship with the Syracuse Orange as a freshman, had been named the most outstanding player of the 2003 Final Four, and had declared for the draft before completing a second college season. The Denver Nuggets knew exactly who they were taking. This 2003-04 Bowman Rookies & Stars #140 Rookie RC, graded PSA 10 GEM MINT, is the first-year collector card from the class that basketball historians return to every time someone argues about the greatest single draft in the sport's history.

🌟 Brooklyn, New York — Baltimore, Maryland — Syracuse University — The 2003 NCAA Champion

Carmelo Kyam Anthony was born May 29, 1984, in Brooklyn, New York — the borough of artists and athletes and the creative energy that has shaped American culture across every decade since the nineteenth century. His family moved to Baltimore, Maryland, during his childhood and he grew up in the rough neighborhoods of the west side of Baltimore where basketball was played with the intensity and the physical edge of a city that takes the game seriously. He chose Syracuse University and Coach Jim Boeheim's 2-3 zone system over a dozen major program offers, and in his one season as a Orangeman he averaged 22.2 points and 10.0 rebounds, led the team to the 2003 NCAA National Championship over Kansas, and was named the tournament's most outstanding player. He declared for the draft the next morning. The college chapter lasted one season and produced a title. The NBA chapter lasted 19 years.

🏆 Denver Nuggets — New York Knicks — 10 All-Star Appearances — The Scorer

Carmelo Anthony spent 19 seasons in the NBA and accumulated a statistical record that places him among the greatest pure scorers in the history of the sport. He was a 10-time NBA All-Star. He was a 6-time All-NBA selection. He won the NBA scoring title in the 2012-13 season with a 28.7 points-per-game average. In eight seasons with the New York Knicks, he became the franchise's all-time leading scorer — passing Patrick Ewing, the player who had defined Knicks basketball for a generation before Carmelo arrived at Madison Square Garden in the trade from Denver. He won Olympic gold medals in 2008 (Beijing) and 2012 (London) and holds the record for most points scored by any player in Olympic basketball history. The 2003-04 Bowman Rookies & Stars RC captures the beginning of a scoring career that the record books will preserve for the rest of basketball history.

2003-04 Bowman Rookies & Stars #140 — The 2003 Class RC — PSA 10 Gem Mint

The Bowman Rookies & Stars subset captures the 2003 class in Bowman's format — the chrome refractor construction and design that Bowman has deployed across baseball and basketball for decades.
