โšพ Graded 2025 Topps Now Roki Sasaki #3 Rookie RC Baseball Card PSA 9 Mint โ€“ The 2025 Topps Now Rookie Card of Roki Sasaki, the Los Angeles Dodgers Starting Pitcher Who Arrived from Japan With Credentials That Placed Him Among the Most Anticipated Pitching Arrivals in the History of Pacific Rim Baseball's Relationship With the American Game

โšพ The pipeline between Japanese professional baseball and Major League Baseball has produced some of the sport's most significant talents across the past three decades, and the names that have traveled that route โ€“ Hideo Nomo, Ichiro Suzuki, Daisuke Matsuzaka, Yu Darvish, Masahiro Tanaka, Yoshinobu Yamamoto โ€“ form a lineage of pitchers and position players who arrived with reputations built on the highest level of Japanese professional competition and who validated those reputations against the best hitters in the world. Roki Sasaki arrived at the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2025 with credentials that placed him alongside the most anticipated of those arrivals โ€“ a pitcher whose stuff, at its best, had produced performances in Nippon Professional Baseball that the baseball world watches on social media and discusses with the same intensity it reserves for the sport's most spectacular domestic moments.

๐ŸŒŸ Roki Sasaki was born November 3, 2001, in Ofunato, Iwate Prefecture, Japan โ€“ a city on the Pacific coast of Japan's Tohoku region that was among the communities most severely affected by the 2011 earthquake and tsunami. He grew up in the aftermath of that event and through the years of rebuilding that followed, and the resilience that such a background requires became part of the story that the Japanese baseball world attached to his rise from Ofunato to professional baseball. He joined the Chiba Lotte Marines of NPB as a teenager and developed into the most talked-about young pitcher in Japanese baseball, refining a fastball that consistently topped 100 miles per hour and a splitter that dropped so sharply and so late that hitters who had studied it on video could not consistently protect against it. The pitch became known in Japan by a name reflecting its devastating quality โ€“ a legitimate weapon in any baseball environment, and a pitch that drew comparisons to the most historic offspeed offerings in the history of the game.

๐Ÿ’ฅ In April 2022, Sasaki threw a perfect game for the Marines against the Orix Buffaloes, retiring all 27 batters he faced. On his very next start, he struck out 19 consecutive batters across a single game โ€“ a performance that set NPB records and that baseball fans around the world watched in the compressed video form that the internet now makes available hours after a Japanese game ends. The back-to-back performances established him as something extraordinary, a pitcher performing at a level that the competition of his league could not consistently account for. His posting to MLB in late 2024 and subsequent signing with the Los Angeles Dodgers brought him to the most scrutinized roster in baseball, a team that already featured Yoshinobu Yamamoto and other premium pitching, and placed him in front of the largest available baseball audience for the beginning of his American career.

๐Ÿƒ The 2025 Topps Now format produces baseball cards in near-real time, capturing the moments of an active season and releasing commemorative cards within days of the events they document. The Roki Sasaki #3 Rookie RC in this format documents his American baseball debut โ€“ the first season in which he wore a Dodgers uniform on an MLB field and competed against the full roster of major league hitters. The PSA 9 MINT grade reflects a card evaluated by PSA specialists and determined to meet the four-corner, centering, and surface standards of the MINT designation โ€“ a high-quality certified grade for a rookie document of one of baseball's most internationally anticipated pitching arrivals. Condition: NOS.
