Retro MLB Boston Red Sox Dunkin Poster ⚾ Combat Tested, Lowell Ramirez Wakefield, SportsPropaganda Art by Chris Speakman

Remember the 2008 Red Sox? ⚾ "Combat Tested": Lowell, Ramirez and Wakefield, Boston Red Sox 2008

Size: 20" x 16" ~ Little to no edge wear.

This official poster for the Boston Red Sox, Dunkin Donuts, and Major League Baseball 2008 is amazing! Of course, I am biased. As a full disclaimer, living in New England, DD and Red Sox are like peanut butter and jelly. ⚾

Mike Lowell, Manny Ramirez and Tim Wakefield walk shoulder to shoulder in their home whites under a torn banner reading COMBAT TESTED, drawn in a bold red, gray and cream style that looks straight off a World War II recruiting poster. Below them the VETERANS roundel carries the hanging-socks logo inside a laurel wreath, with JOIN THE RANKS underneath and CAMARADERIE, DISCIPLINE and RESOLVE across the bottom. We likely won't find a box of them again. It will be meticulously packaged and shipped professionally in a tube, ensuring its safe arrival to you.

The back is plain white. Every poster carries its own MLB hologram with its own number.

🎨 Chris Speakman's Sports Propaganda

Incredible style by Chris Speakman, who specializes in limited-edition artworks! Chris lives in Somerville, Massachusetts, studied illustration at the University of Hartford, and built his Sports Propaganda prints on the look of 1940s propaganda art, which is exactly what you're seeing here. His work has been featured in The Boston Globe, ESPN.com, and CBS-Boston. He also designed the program cover for the 2011 MLB All-Star Game and has worked on national ad campaigns for Dunkin Donuts and Topps Trading Cards. This one was part of a set of four Red Sox posters he drew for Dunkin' in New England: Papelbon's "Steadfast Strong," this "Combat Tested" trio, Lester, Beckett and Matsuzaka as "The Guns of October," and Youkilis with Pedroia.

🧢 The Veterans

Mike Lowell came over from the Marlins in a deal completed November 21, 2005, and in 2007 he was the World Series MVP, hitting .400 in the four-game sweep of the Colorado Rockies. Back in 1999 he had beaten testicular cancer, going from surgery in February to back in the lineup by late May. He retired after the 2010 season.

Manny Ramirez signed with Boston in December 2000 on an eight-year, $160 million deal, and he was the 2004 World Series MVP, batting .412 as the Red Sox swept St. Louis and ended the Curse of the Bambino. "Manny being Manny" became part of the language. On May 31, 2008, wearing a Red Sox uniform, he hit his 500th home run, and just two months later, on July 31, 2008, he was traded to the Dodgers in a three-team deal that brought Jason Bay to Boston. So this poster caught Manny in his very last season in Boston.

Tim Wakefield signed with the Red Sox in 1995, just six days after Pittsburgh released him, and rode his knuckleball to 186 wins in a Boston uniform, third in franchise history behind only Cy Young and Roger Clemens. He was part of both the 2004 and 2007 championships, won the Roberto Clemente Award in 2010 for giving back to the community, and retired on February 17, 2012. Red Sox Nation lost him on October 1, 2023, at just 57.

Between the three of them, five Red Sox World Series rings from 2004 and 2007. Combat tested is right.

🖼️ Display

Framed, this looks fantastic in a game room, a man cave or a kid's bedroom, and it's the perfect gift for any Red Sox fan, especially one who still misses Wake.
