Este boné tem uma história muito interessante. Eles foram encontrados em uma antiga fábrica de engarrafamento em Jefferson, NC, na década de 1990. O que torna isso realmente único é o fato de terem sido feitos para Mountain Dew Dewshine, que não foi lançado até 2015. Então, eles se prepararam para um lançamento mais cedo e o atrasaram por algum motivo e essas tampas foram encontradas antes mesmo de o refrigerante ser lançado .
Este foi engarrafado pela American Icon Crown Holding, que costumava ser a Crown Cork & Seal Company, que começou em 1892 e hoje produz 1 em cada 5 latas de bebidas fabricadas e também 1 em cada 3 latas de alimentos no mundo.
