Description

Framed Autographed/Signed Barry Larkin 35x39 Cincinnati White Baseball Jersey Beckett BAS COA – The Authenticated In-Person Signature of Barry Larkin, Cincinnati Reds Shortstop, 1995 National League Most Valuable Player, 1990 World Series Champion, Twelve-Time All-Star, and Baseball Hall of Fame Inductee (Class of 2012)

⚾ Barry Larkin was born on April 28, 1964, in Cincinnati, Ohio – a child of the city whose professional career never left it. He grew up watching the Big Red Machine from the stands at Riverfront Stadium, went north to play college ball at the University of Michigan, and came back to Cincinnati as the Reds' first-round pick in 1985. What followed was nineteen seasons wearing red and white at the same ballpark he had grown up watching, a career that made him the best shortstop the franchise has ever had and one of the best at the position in National League history during the era when he played it.

⚾ The 1990 World Series Championship with the “Wire to Wire” Reds – the team that led the division from Opening Day to the final out of the World Series, sweeping the Oakland Athletics in four games – gave Cincinnati its most recent championship and gave Larkin the ring that the city still celebrates decades later. The 1995 National League MVP Award recognized the peak of his individual performance: a shortstop who hit for average, stole bases, played Gold Glove defense, and provided the veteran leadership of a player who had already been to the top of the sport. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2012, the ceremony in Cooperstown completing a journey that began in the stands of Riverfront Stadium when he was a child growing up in the city he would eventually make proud. This white Cincinnati jersey carries his signature, framed at 35x39. Authenticated by Beckett Authentication Services (BAS) with a Certificate of Authenticity (COA). Condition: NOS.
