Graded 1973 Topps Mike Schmidt #615 Rookie RC Baseball Card PSA 5 EX — The PSA 5 EXCELLENT Professionally Graded 1973 Topps Rookie Card of Mike Schmidt, the Philadelphia Phillies Hall of Fame Third Baseman Who Won Three National League MVP Awards, Hit 548 Career Home Runs, Captured the 1980 World Series Championship, and Is Widely Regarded as the Greatest Third Baseman in the History of Major League Baseball

⚾ The Graded 1973 Topps Mike Schmidt #615 Rookie RC Baseball Card PSA 5 EX is the PSA 5 EXCELLENT professionally graded 1973 Topps rookie card of Philadelphia Phillies legend Mike Schmidt — a piece of cardboard from more than fifty years ago that carries the image of one of the most complete and celebrated players the National League has ever produced. PSA 5 EXCELLENT is a mid-grade that represents a card showing visible wear from its half-century journey through the hobby but presenting with the design still clearly intact, the image identifiable, and the fundamental physical integrity of the card maintained across decades of trading, storing, and collecting. On a 1973 Topps rookie card of this magnitude — Schmidt's first appearance on a Topps baseball card — the PSA 5 is a collector-accessible grade for a card whose higher-graded versions command prices that reflect how universally the hobby treasures Schmidt's place in baseball history.

⚾ Mike Schmidt was born September 27, 1949, in Dayton, Ohio — the southwest Ohio city along the Great Miami River that has given the United States remarkable athletic talent across multiple generations. He played baseball and basketball at Fairview High School in Dayton before attending Ohio University, where he developed the hitting foundation and the defensive fundamentals that would translate into one of the greatest careers in the history of the National League's most important position. The Philadelphia Phillies drafted him in the second round of the 1971 amateur draft, beginning a relationship between player and franchise that would span eighteen seasons and define both permanently.

⚾ What Schmidt built in Philadelphia between 1972 and 1989 is among the most singular career achievements in the sport. He won three NL MVP awards (1980, 1981, 1986), ten Gold Gloves at third base across seasons in which his defensive reputation matched his offensive greatness, twelve All-Star selections, and the 1980 World Series title when the Phillies defeated the Kansas City Royals for the franchise's first championship. His 548 career home runs placed him among the game's all-time power leaders, and his combination of power and defense at the hot corner set the standard for third base excellence against which every player at that position in subsequent generations has been measured. The Pro Baseball Hall of Fame inducted him in 1995 on the first ballot. The 1973 Topps rookie card graded PSA 5 is the earliest standard Topps document of that career. Condition: NOS.
