Description

🧹 Antique Liberty broom label – Statue of Liberty in bold red, white, and blue

This antique Liberty broom label is unused NOS stock from the early 1900s and measures about 6 inches tall by 3.5 inches wide, a perfect size to frame as a small poster. A row of stars marches across the top, a strong LIBERTY name panel commands the center, and a finely drawn Statue of Liberty stands inside a laurel wreath above a blank panel where the broom grade would have been printed.

 Patriotic packaging from the 1910s

In the 1910s, American manufacturers loved to brand their products with patriotic symbols, and the Statue of Liberty quickly became one of the most powerful images they could use. Broom makers borrowed that language too: a Liberty broom promised American‑made quality and pride in a very everyday object. A poster site that reproduces this design identifies the original broom label art as dating to around 1910, applied directly to broom stems as a mark of quality.

🎨 Printed in the U.S.A. by early lithography

Along the lower edge, the label is marked “Printed in U.S.A.”, and the rich, flat colors reveal classic early 20th‑century lithography. Each color—deep navy, bright red, and clean white—was laid down in separate ink passes, producing the sharp contrast and fine line work in the Statue of Liberty and laurel wreath. The simple but powerful layout, with bold panels and stars, fits perfectly in the c. 1910s period just before streamlined Art Deco styles became dominant.

🏛️ From broom handle to collectible Americana

Most Liberty broom labels did their job and disappeared. They were wrapped around broom handles, seen on store shelves and in homes, and then thrown away when the broom wore out. Unused NOS examples like this survived because a printer or broom company saved leftover stock in a drawer or storeroom instead of using every last sheet. Today, collectors of advertising art, New York memorabilia, and patriotic ephemera are reframing labels like this as miniature posters with genuine history behind them.

This Liberty broom label is perfect for framing in a kitchen, laundry room, broom closet, hallway, or office, and it fits beautifully into collections of Statue of Liberty, New York, or Americana pieces.

Approx. 6" x 3.5", original lithographed broom label, NOS, ready to frame, gift, or add to your ephemera collection.
