Retro Y2K 2000 Coke Coca-Cola Plane Glider 🥤 Advertising Toy Promo

Remember the Coca-Cola Plane Glider? ✈️ Coca-Cola Plane Glider Toy, Still Sealed from 2000

Size: 6 1/2" ~ Sealed in its original bag.

Here's a fun one from right at the turn of the millennium: a red plastic Coca-Cola plane glider, still sealed in its clear bag on the printed card it came on. The plane is bright Coke red, the card behind it is covered in fizzy soda bubbles, and it has never been taken out of the bag or flown.

🏷️ What's Printed on It

• Coca-Cola, in the red script on the card
• MADE IN CHINA, molded into the red plastic
• © GIFTCO, INC 2000 on the bar code label on the back, with a small Made in China line and a 21 in a circle

🎁 Who Made It

That little label on the back says Giftco, Inc. made it in 2000. Giftco made items for fundraising programs, and it carried licenses for pieces like this Coca-Cola glider and, in the early 2000s, a whole line of Muppet products, from coin sorters and car tins to piggy banks, magnets and watches.

🥤 That Famous Script

The Coca-Cola name and the script on this card both came from Frank Mason Robinson, John Pemberton's bookkeeper, back in 1885. He picked Spencerian script, which was the fancy formal handwriting everybody in America was taught at the time, and more than a hundred years later it was still going on toys like this one. The company made "Coke" official in 1941 and registered it in 1945.

🏡 Display

It's a great little piece for a Coca-Cola collection, a kid's room or a shelf of Y2K toys, and if the grandkids talk you into opening it, it still ought to fly.
