Officially licensed, still sealed, 1994.

An unopened pack of University of Georgia Bulldogs temporary tattoos from TAG Express, with the licensing line printed on the card itself: Licensed To and Manufactured By Highgate Products, Inc. 1994. Four assorted transfers, sealed in the original clear sleeve. The printing is bright, with no tears, creases or stains — only light surface scuffing on the sleeve.

This is the era before college merchandise lived in a national webstore. It was sold at the stadium gate, in campus bookstores and in local sporting goods shops, printed in a run, and then gone.

Georgia's traditions are older than most of the stadiums they are played in. Sanford Stadium's privet hedges were planted for the 1929 opening, and “between the hedges” has meant Athens ever since. The live English bulldog line — Uga — has come from the same Savannah family since 1956, each one on the sideline in a red jersey. Red and black on a cream card is exactly that.
