At the bottom left, sitting in the dark foreground rocks below the horse, a large glowing orange is shown half-emerged from its printed tissue wrapper, the wrapper's crimped tail lying to the lower left and the classic starburst pattern radiating up from the bottom. Across its face, in outlined script, is the word Sunkist — the California Fruit Growers Exchange mark, and the reason a Redlands co-operative label carries it at all.

Directly beneath that orange runs T. M. REG. U. S. PAT. OFFICE © 1926 in red microtype. It is offered here as corroboration and nothing more: a trademark registration and copyright line dates the device, not necessarily the press run that produced this particular sheet, and such lines were carried forward on reprints for decades.
