In the Manning-era Indianapolis Colts offense, the tight end was not a blocking position. It was a receiving weapon. Dallas Clark came out of Livermore, Iowa โ a small farming community in northern Iowa โ played at the University of Iowa under Kirk Ferentz, and arrived in Indianapolis as a first-round pick with the kind of athleticism that the Colts offense needed to extend Peyton Manning's game into something that could win in the fourth quarter.
