Autographed Pedro Martinez Boston Red Sox White Home Baseball Jersey Beckett BAS COA — Manoguayabo Dominican Republic, 3x Cy Young Award Winner, 2004 World Series Champion Boston Red Sox, Baseball Hall of Fame 2015, 1999 Season 23-4 Record 2.07 ERA 313 Strikeouts, The Greatest Pitching Season of the Modern Era — Collector Frame Your Way

The Boston Red Sox white. The home jersey worn at Fenway Park during the years when Pedro Martinez was the most dominant pitcher in baseball — the years when opposing lineups knew what was coming and still could not hit it, when a right-hander from the Dominican Republic standing 5-foot-11 was throwing the most overpowering combination of fastball and changeup the American League had faced since the era of the most legendary pitchers in the sport's history. Signed by Martinez. Authenticated by Beckett BAS. Ready for your frame, your wall, your way.

🌟 Pedro Martinez — Manoguayabo, Dominican Republic; The Caribbean; Built for the Mound

Pedro Martinez was born October 25, 1971, in Manoguayabo — a community in the municipality of Santo Domingo Oeste, on the western edge of the capital of the Dominican Republic, where the Caribbean heat and the deep baseball culture of the island shaped a player who would become one of the most skilled pitchers the sport has ever produced. The Dominican Republic has given professional baseball more players per capita than any other nation — a tradition built on community, on sandlot play, on the passion for the game that runs through the culture as completely as any other institution. Pedro Martinez did not merely come out of that tradition — he elevated it, becoming the standard against which all pitchers from the DR would be measured and the symbol of what was possible for a player from that island on the biggest stages in the game.

🏆 3x Cy Young Award — 1997, 1999, 2000 — The Greatest Stretch of Pitching Dominance of His Era

Pedro Martinez won three Cy Young Awards — the 1997 National League award with the Montreal Expos, and the 1999 and 2000 American League awards with the Boston Red Sox. The 1999 season is considered among the greatest individual pitching seasons in the history of professional baseball: a 23-4 record, a 2.07 ERA, 313 strikeouts in 213.1 innings, opponents batting .205. In 2000, he went 18-6 with a 1.74 ERA, 284 strikeouts, and a WHIP of 0.74 — the lowest single-season WHIP in the live-ball era. He did this in the height of the Steroid Era, in the American League, in hitter-friendly parks, against lineups stocked with the most dangerous offensive players in the game. And he wore the Red Sox white in Fenway Park when he did it.

2004 World Series Champion — The Curse of the Bambino Broken — Hall of Fame 2015

Pedro Martinez was part of the 2004 Boston Red Sox team that won the World Series — sweeping the St. Louis Cardinals 4-0 after coming back from 0-3 against the New York Yankees in the ALCS in what remains the greatest comeback in playoff baseball history. The Curse of the Bambino, 86 years without a World Series championship in Boston, ended in October 2004. Martinez was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2015 — first ballot, 91.1% of the vote — his career validated by a number that placed him among the most dominant pitchers of any era. This Red Sox white home jersey represents the Fenway years, the home starts under the lights, the Green Monster in left field, the Boston faithful who watched the greatest pitcher in the American League take the mound in their city.
