🎾 Vintage 1992 Battle of the Sexes Embossed Stamped Envelope — Navratilova vs Connors

This is an original 1992 commemorative stamped envelope celebrating the legendary pay‑per‑view tennis exhibition match between Martina Navratilova and Jimmy Connors, held at Caesars Palace (Paradise / Las Vegas), Nevada.

📜 The envelope is postmarked Las Vegas, NV — September 25, 1992 and features embossed lettering, a black‑and‑white action image of both players, and an original 29‑cent White House USA stamp. The postmark is part of the original commemorative issue and not the result of postal circulation.

This match remains one of the most discussed sports spectacles of its era. Connors (age 40) faced Navratilova (age 35) under modified rules designed to level the playing field. Connors famously described the match as “war,” while Navratilova referred to it as a clash of egos. Connors won 7–5, 6–2.

Produced as novelty sports and postal ephemera, these envelopes were never intended for long‑term preservation. Surviving examples are now collected for their cultural context, sports history significance, and early‑1990s design.

Condition

New Old Stock (NOS). Never used for mailing. No addressing, no writing, and no handling wear. Embossing, printed imagery, and the affixed stamp are intact. Stored flat and preserved since issue.
