Remember Sylvester and Tweety Pins? 🐱 Sylvester and Tweety, a Sealed 1995 Looney Tunes Pinback Button

Size: 2 1/2" ~ Unopened in its package.

Sylvester and Tweety together on a 1995 Looney Tunes pin, never taken out of the package! Sylvester is looming over the top with his big red nose and his paws out, clearly up to no good, while little Tweety stands right underneath him looking pleased as punch, all on a red button with a blue-gray panel and a big yellow LOONEY TUNES across the top.

2 1/2" ~ It takes you straight back to Saturday morning cartoons - the morning we all waited for all week long!

🏷️ What's Printed on It

  • LOONEY TUNES
  • TM & © 1995 WARNER BROS.
  • Made in China, and MADE IN CHINA molded into the plastic back

Backs come in different colors; blue, yellow, white, green and pink are the ones I've seen, and there may be more. Wire pin, still sealed, never worn.

😼 Sufferin' Succotash!

Sylvester made his debut in Friz Freleng's "Life with Feathers" on March 24, 1945, and two years later Freleng put him up against Tweety in "Tweetie Pie" (1947), the very first cartoon to team the two of them. It won the Warner Bros. cartoon studio its very first Academy Award. Sylvester went on to star in three Oscar winners, "Tweetie Pie," "Speedy Gonzales" and "Birds Anonymous," the most for any Looney Tunes character.

Mel Blanc said Sylvester's voice was basically Daffy Duck's without being sped up, plus an even more exaggerated, slobbery lisp, which is why "Sufferin' succotash!" comes out the way it does. And Tweety, of course, was forever spotting him first: "I tawt I taw a puddy tat!" TV Guide ranked the two of them together at No. 33 on its list of the 50 greatest cartoon characters.

Tweety is older than the cat. He started out as "Orson" in Bob Clampett's "A Tale of Two Kitties" in 1942, pink and featherless, until the censors made the studio paint him yellow. And 1995, the year on this pin, was a big one for the pair: that's when The Sylvester & Tweety Mysteries premiered, with Granny running a detective agency and Sylvester still trying to sneak a bite of the bird between cases. A year later they were both on the Tune Squad with Michael Jordan in Space Jam.

🏡 Display

It's a sweet gift for anybody who grew up rooting for the bird (or secretly for the cat), and it looks great in a shadow box, on a bulletin board or pinned on a jacket, if you can stand to open it. The supply is finite - once these last sealed 1995 Sylvester and Tweety pins are gone, they'll be very difficult to acquire. Like everything here, they're stored in the dark at a steady 72°F, under 40% humidity.
