🥕 What's Up, Doc?

Tex Avery's "A Wild Hare," released July 27, 1940, is counted as the first official Bugs Bunny cartoon, and Avery wrote "What's up, Doc?" for it. Add in "Ain't I a stinker?" and poor Elmer Fudd sputtering about that wascally wabbit, and you've got the whole routine. Mel Blanc voiced Bugs for 52 years. "Knighty Knight Bugs" (1958) won the Academy Award for Best Cartoon Short Subject, and on December 10, 1985 Bugs became only the second cartoon character, after Mickey Mouse, to get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. When TV Guide ranked the 50 greatest cartoon characters in 2002, Bugs was number one, and in 1997 he became the first cartoon character to appear on a U.S. postage stamp.

The "I ♥" goes back to Milton Glaser's I ❤ NY logo, which he drew in red crayon in the back of a taxi in 1976 and New York State started using in 1977. A red heart after an "I" has meant "I love" ever since.

🏡 Display

It's a fun gift for any Bugs fan, and it looks great in a shadow box, on a bulletin board or pinned on a jacket or a backpack, if you can bring yourself to open it.

Returns & Exchange

Take your time — you've got a full six months. If a piece isn't right for you, send it back the way it reached you and we're good.

In the first 30 days your money goes straight back the way you paid. After that it's store credit, so you can put it toward something you'd rather have.

Return shipping we sort out between us, case by case. I don't make this difficult.

If something arrives damaged, or it isn't what I said it was, send me a photo within 48 hours and I'll make it right.

Email info@vintageantiquesgifts.com or call 802-356-9872 — that's me answering, not a call center.

The only things I can't take back are custom or special-order pieces and gift cards.
